On Day 1 focuses on client acquisition: how you can generate new business by helping clients unlock their charitable passions and identify their motivations and expectations.  We introduce you to the research underpinning Philanthropy Coach and the Philanthropic Planning Process and demonstrate how this research is being confirmed daily in real life client experience.

We help you learn to distinguish donors from philanthropists and why that knowledge is critical to your new philanthropy practice. We then identify eight different motivational expectations of philanthropists and give you opportunities to practice turning some of these expectations into approach talks that will help you secure clients. Evolve from map reader to map maker as you learn how to transform client input in the form of values and worldview into concrete Giving on Purpose (charitable mission) statements and giving guidelines. More…

On Day 2 we introduce you to the annual philanthropy activities that comprise the recurring portions of the Philanthropic Planning Process. We empower you to create annual philanthropic plans for your clients give you tools and information for negotiating and designing gift agreements with charities, and wrap up with insights on the importance of family philanthropy and why you may want to pursue this topic beyond the boundaries of our two-day session.More…
